COMING FROM THE NORTH ON FREEWAY 99: Take the Herndon Avenue exit off of Freeway 99 and continue east on Herndon 20 miles to Academy Avenue. Turn right on Academy and travel south approximately 6 1/2 miles to Belmont Avenue and turn left. Now follow directions under EVERYONE. The last gas stops for night arrivals will be available in Fresno on Herndon Avenue. The last gas stops during the day will be at Doyals Market in Piedra.
COMING FROM THE SOUTH ON FREEWAY 99: Take the Clovis Ave exit (the sign reads Exit Clovis Ave). Travel north on Clovis Ave approximately 6.6 miles to Belmont. Turn right on Belmont and travel approximately 8.5 miles to Academy and then follow directions under EVERYONE.
COMING FROM THE COAST ON HIGHWAY 41: Heading north on Highway 41, turn right on Jensen Avenue (the first stoplight before entering Fresno) and travel east approximately 12 miles. Jensen dead ends into Academy Avenue. Turn left on Academy and continue north 5 1/2 miles to the stop sign at Belmont Avenue. Turn right on Belmont. Now follow directions under EVERYONE. The last gas stops for night arrivals will be available in Fresno on Jensen Avenue. The last gas stops during the day will be at Doyal's Market in Piedra.
EVERYONE: Set your trip odometer on zero at the Belmont/Academy intersection. Stay on Belmont heading east as it turns into Trimmer Springs Road. Stay on Trimmer Springs Road and match your trip odometer with the following checkpoints:
13.0 miles - Piedra (small community, last gas and food)
25.6 miles - Trimmer (abandoned store/payphone)
30.7 miles - Sycamore campgrounds
33.3 miles - Big Creek Bridge (stay on paved road that goes across the bridge)
42.5 miles - Kings River Bridge
At the end of the Kings River Bridge turn right onto a dirt road (their sign will be there). Parking will be about 1/8 mile down this road, to the right for cars, and to the left for campers and RV's.
